  Oregon City Snowboard Team Dominates Winter Competitions with Stellar Performances

*Oregon City, OR* - The Oregon City Pioneers Snowboarding Team has been leaving an indelible mark on the winter sports scene, showcasing exceptional talent and grit in various competitions throughout the regular season. With a series of remarkable results in Banked Slalom, Slopestyle, and Halfpipe events, the team is gearing up for the culmination of their regular season with a doubleheader on March 2nd and 3rd, leading to the highly anticipated State competition on the week of March 12th. 

Banked Slalom Thrills and Spill

In the Boys Banked Slalom #2 on January 28, 2024, against 72 competitors, the Oregon City boys demonstrated their prowess. Kyle Stricker secured an impressive 2nd place with a time of 53.193 seconds, followed by Kai Hill in 7th place (54.844 seconds), Kevin Stricker in 10th place (55.263 seconds), Wolfgang Jesperson in 12th place (55.629 seconds), and Colby Huston in 14th place (55.752 seconds). 

For the Girls Banked Slalom #2, Kassi Morgan claimed 9th place (59.877 seconds), Lexi Rogers secured 11th place (60.302 seconds), and Jocelyn Billinghurst landed in the 24th place (75.675 seconds). 

In the subsequent Banked Slalom #1 on February 3, 2024, Wolfgang Jesperson snatched the 2nd place overall with a stellar time of 52.340 seconds. Kevin Stricker took the 6th place (52.829 seconds), Kyle Stricker secured the 9th place (53.214 seconds), and Colby Huston claimed the 21st place (55.545 seconds). 

In Girls Banked Slalom #1, Lexi Rogers grabbed the 11th place (59.204 seconds), and Kassi Morgan secured the 14th place (59.731 seconds). 

Slopestyle Dominance

The team continued to impress in Slopestyle competitions. In Girls Slopestyle 1, Kassi Morgan showcased her skills, securing the 8th place overall with a top score of 179. The Boys Slopestyle 1 saw Oregon City boys dominating the top 6 spots, with Colby Huston in 2nd place, Kevin Stricker in 3rd place, and Kyle Stricker in 5th place. 

In Slopestyle #2, Kai Hill dazzled with a 4th-place finish, while Colby Huston secured the 5th place. On the girls' side, Kassi Morgan claimed the 12th place. 

Halfpipe Heroics

Despite challenging weather conditions in Halfpipe #1 on February 25, 2024, the Oregon City Snowboard Team continued to excel. In the Girls category, Lexi Rogers secured the 12th place, Aine Smyth claimed the 14th place, and Kassi Morgan landed in the 18th place. 

In the Boys Halfpipe, Colby Huston displayed his skills, grabbing the 3rd place, while Kevin Stricker secured the 9th place. The entire team showcased perseverance and determination in the face of adverse conditions. 

Coach Chad Rogers expressed pride in the team's accomplishments, saying, "These results are a testament to the hard work and dedication our athletes have put into their training. We're excited about the upcoming competitions and are ready to give our best at the State competition." 

As the Oregon City Pioneers Snowboarding Team prepares for the final stretch of the regular season, the community rallies behind them, anticipating more thrilling performances on the snow-covered slopes.
